In this faith chat, I unpacked Colossians 3 and a few verses in the Psalms and Proverbs. I took the time to chat about how important our mindsets are and how this one way of thinking can change everything as we follow Christ and serve the people who are around us. I invite you to grab your coffee or tea and chat with me on the topic, “setting our minds on things above”.

My Thoughts On, “Setting Our Minds on Things Above”
So often I feel like the day to day tasks as a mother, or any adult truthfully, can be overwhelming. And let’s be honest, most days, we do not have the right mindset behind doing these tasks and activities. I have always stood behind the saying, ” your perspective is everything; it sets your mood for the day”. And it does!! I have looked back at the days where I have had the perspective of, “I have to get up and do ____” and it never goes well. These are the days full of irritation, moodiness, and sometimes bitterness and resentment or longing for something different. Not much gratitude.
But there is good news y’all! It’s..
Jesus! It is wonderful how He invites us to a perspective of “servanthood” rather than the “I have to” perspective. And this invitation is for everyday, all day. Yes, you heard me right, all day! So, yes, you may have gotten upset, you may have had weak moments (I definitely have!!) but we do not have to have our day continue down that path. Jesus invites us to. “set our minds on things above, not earthly things” (Colossians 3:2). He invites us to remember that it is Him we are serving in everything we do!! So, I encourage you to go into prayer and ask Jesus to help you set your mind on things above, just as I am seeking for Him to do for me!
Final Thoughts For You
I encourage you all to think about how you may set your mind on things above. For me, this looks like constantly entering prayer asking God to help me be thankful for where He has planted me. To help me transform my thoughts of grumbling and complaining for the day to day tasks to joy and peace as I get to serve my loved ones.
Thank you for joining me on this faith chat I hope to see you in the next one. Please comment below your thoughts on this faith talk and what you will be doing to try to set your minds on things above.
