As I explained in my previous post, A Look into Isaiah 26:4, I love creating these Bible verses wallpapers!
I have a few different Bibles and I think it is so wonderful to read out of different translations of the Bible. The New International Version (NIV) is my preferred version of the Bible. However, I was gifted a New Living Translation (NLT) Bible and I have liked reading it too. I also occasionally read out of English Standard Version (ESV) as well. This verse is out of the NLT but I love the NIV version of this as well.

Psalm 46:10 (NLT)
Why this verse spoke to me:
Being still is hard for me. Maybe it is due to me constantly wanting to be on the go, or constantly running after children… Whatever the true reason is, being still just does not come natural for me. My husband is often telling me to relax and since meeting him, I have truly learned to dial it down a little. But being still before God is a whole another concept that I still find myself struggling with.
Personally, I have often approached God and left little time for Him to speak. Being still before God means we do not have to come to Him and rant His ear off about all of our problems in prayer. Yes, He loves to hear our voice, but sometimes, He is calling us to be still and quiet before Him. This allows Him to speak and to meet with us in an intimate way that we can miss if we do all the talking and not enough listening. I am guilty of doing this and am still trying to give more of my prayer time to be still rather than feeling the need to keep the words flowing throughout prayer.
Why this Psalm as a wallpaper:
This is a great verse to memorize and remember for any situation. I was reading and when I read this verse I took a moment to ponder on the meaning. “Be still and know that I am God!” Wow. “I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” Double wow. This is such a powerful reminder for all seasons and all circumstances of life. No matter what we are facing, no matter where we are.. we have this reminder that we can be still and know that God is the all powerful, miracle-working, God of the universe and we get to have a personal relationship with Him. In the NIV, it says “exalted” instead of “honored” and that holds even more reverence for who God is and His character.
I love this verse and decided to make a wallpaper out of it because I need to be reminded that God is God and no matter what is happening around the world or in my personal life, He will be exalted and honored. The situations I am facing and/or the world as a whole are facing is only temporary and God can work through anything and everything. We have this hope of not needing to struggle through life because we can come before God with reverence and in prayer request God to move in our lives and our needs. And being still is a concept that truly captures how we should approach God.
How I made this wallpaper:
I am writing this post and realized this photo was taken on another walk while my husband and I were on a date, haha! Maybe I get to take more photos on walks without the children because my hands are more free. I will have to test this theory another time haha. Anyhow, I took this picture and made it more vivid by adding a filter. The greenery was already so vibrant that day and the perfect blue skies made it a wonderful photo. God does truly paint His skies with such beauty. I additionally thought with the path of the trail it would be a nice addition to add almost a door type of frame for the verse to go on. And there the wallpaper is!
